Charles S. Shartzer, the son of James Shartzer and Mary Craig of Grayson County, Kentucky, was born March 27, 1865. He was the husband of Sarah C. Litsey, the daughter of James H. Litsey and Amanda Spurrier. She was born October 16, 1869. She preceded him in death on January 3, 1948 and was buried in the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Leitchfield, Grayson County, Kentucky. Charles died at the age of 85 on June 12, 1950 in Grayson County, Kentucky and joined her in the Walnut Hill Cemetery. They share the same stone.
