DEATH OF MRS. CHANEY

Rebeckah Jane Kinzie was born November 14, 1856, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to David Hall Kinzie and Didamie Pitts Kinzie, and passed away January 17, 1943 at her home in Alexandria, at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 3 days. They moved to Indiana in about 1857, then to Illinois about 1861, and then to Nebraska in about 1864. Miss Kinzie married B.S. DeRidder on June 29, 1880, in Kearney, Nebraska. To this union one daughter, Hattie DeRidder Fritchie, was born. Mr. DeRidder died here September 29, 1900. November 2, 1901, Mrs. DeRidder married James Murrell. Mr. Murrell died here in 1906. Arthur Chaney married her August 6, 1907. He passed away in Geneva in 1938. Wanting to be near her daughter, Mrs. Chaney moved to Alexandria on August 6, 1938. Besides her daughters, Mrs. Chaney is survived by the following sisters, and brothers; James M. Kinzie, Fairbury, Mary Ann Kinzie Workman, Alexandria, Lydia Kinzie Daniels, Industrial City, Missouri, Matilda "Tillie" Kinzie Knigge, Alexandria, George Washington Kinzie, Hebron, and William Tilden Kinzie of Reynolds. Two sisters, Cassie Maria Kinzie Leavitt of Helvey, and Orinda Kinzie Kenney of Powell preceded her in death. She leaves two grandchildren, Calvin Fritchie, of Edgemont, South Dakota, and Viva, Mrs. Robert Goin of Kansas City, Kansas, and one great grandchild, Daryl Dean Fritchie of Edgemont. Funeral services wee conducted by Rev. Jas. C. Henrikson from the Alexandria Presbyterian church and internment in the Alexandria cemetery, Wednesday afternoon.
