While residing about 3 miles from Fredericktown in Frederick Co, MD, he volunteered in June 1781, served 6 months in Capt Michael Troutman's company, Lt. Col. Abner Ritchie's Maryland regt, was out in pursuit of Tories and was a guard to British prisoners in Fredericktown, MD."
"He continued to live in Frederick Co until 1812 when he moved to Fayette Co, PA, in the spring of 1816, moved to Montgomery Co, OH and in the following fall, he moved to Bethel Twp, Clark Co, OH."
"He was allowed pension on his application executed Oct 1, 1832 then a resident of Bethel Twp, Clark Co, OH"
