Services for Charline "Ma" Herrell Patrick, 78, will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at First Baptist Church of Ardmore with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born on Jan. 14, 1927, in Wilson, Okla., to Herbert Lee and Virgie Smith Wogmon, she died on April 30, 2005, at her Ardmore residence.

She graduated from Brownstown High School, Brownstown, Ill., received her bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, and her master's degree from East Central University, Ada. She retired from the Wilson public school system as a special-education teacher. She was a member of Ardmore's First Baptist Church. Charline was a very special lady. Her tremendous work ethic, compassion and Christian values are instilled in each person she touched in her lifetime.

If someone was sick, they could count on receiving a visit, a card or phone call from her. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary. During her teaching career, she helped countless students reach their potential and graduate. Her friends knew that she was a friend they could count on to help them shoulder life's burdens.

Her family was so very special to her. Her four daughters are a testament to the kind of mother she was. Nothing pleased her more than to talk about the love she had for her children and grandchildren.

And last, but not least, she loved the Lord. She never compromised her beliefs, nor did she waver in her Christian moral principles.

She battled cancer with every ounce of strength and determination she had. Ma, we will never forget your faithfulness, your guidance, your wisdom and your undying spirit. We love you.

She married James Daniel Herrell on Oct. 19, 1947. She and R.D. Patrick were married on July 30, 1982. She was preceded in death by R.D. on Oct. 28, 2001; her daughter, Lynetta Herrell, on Sept. 22, 1949; and her parents.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy Gillispie and husband Eddie, Lone Grove, Christy Sudderth and husband Mike, Ardmore, Denise Thompson and husband Mike, Velma, and Diane Buck and husband Larry, Ardmore; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles Wogmon and wife Mary Ann, Stamping Ground, Ky.; a sister and brother-in-law, Christine Daniels and husband John, Vandalia, Ill.; stepchildren, Ron and Doretta Patrick and Danny and Dixie Steele, all of Ardmore; grandchildren, Brian Wilkerson and wife Kandi, and Chris Sudderth and wife, Lisa, Ardmore, Jayme Buck and wife Carrie, Kiefer, Okla., Misti Harris and husband Jeff, Cade Sudderth, K.C.
