Mrs. Libbie L. Stovall Miller, 78. New Oxford R#2, died at the home of her son, Mahlon Miller at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon.
The Adams County deputy coroner, Dr. Robert S. Lefever said that death was caused by atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
She was born in Glade Springs, VA, the daughter of the late James W. and Mary Tina Nichols Stovall. Her husband Rudolph A. Miller died in 1949. They were married in Washington county, VA. Marriage license was applied for on December 21, 1910.
Surviving are five children, Paul E. Miller, Towson, MD; Mrs. Walter (Irene) Sims, Baltimore; Mrs. Max R. (Mary Jo) Wineberg, New Oxford R#2; Mahlon R. Miller with whom she lived and Mrs. J. Bernard (Fern) King, Broomall; 9 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel E. Howard, Baltimore; and Eleanor B. Rohrer, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Services at Feiser Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Hibbs, pastor of Emery United Methodist church, New Oxford. Graveside services were held at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church cemetery, Lancaster County.
Grandmom kept a place setting for tramps at their Mount Joy home. Feeding someone made her feel better not knowing where her brother Charles was and hoping he had meals. She always said, "they were somebody's baby". Charles Fuller Stovall left home at a young age. His thinking was that since times were tough and too many mouths to feed at home he would strike out on his own. For years he rode the trains all over the country, ending up in California.
