Survivors included: His wife Mrs. Kareen Collins Coggin, a sister, Mrs Maude Harris, Columbia; three brothers, Mahlon Coggin, Nashville, Colie and Herbert Coggin, Columbia; a niece Mrs. Thomas Doggett, Lewisburg; and a great nephew, Cooper Jewell, Lewisburg.

Coggin, son of M.A. and Melissa (McDonald) Coggin who removed to Godwin in 1888 where Mr. Coggin was section foreman for 15 years, since which he has been cultivating a small farm which he owns near Godwin. C.A. was born at Campbell's, 1882, learned telegraphy at Carter's 1904, and since January 1905 has been dispatcher at the Wright Mines. (Century Review, 1805-1905, Maury County, Tennessee, pg.131)
