In the 1880 US Census, Wait Wright, Jr. is living with his son Warren and his wife, Nettie, along with two of his younger children, Lincoln and Ida. Most likely, Axalla died before 1880 and according to a 1952 newspaper article in the Ludington Daily News, she is buried in Towns Cemetary.
At the time of the 1880 US Census, his son Joshua is also living in Amber with his wife Jane and their 3 1/2 year old daughter, Rosa.
On June 16, 1886, at the reported age of 60, Wait married 33 year old Lucy M. Werthy Wardell Withey, who was born in England. Josh A. Wright and Milleta J. Wright were witnesses.
