Howard met and married Amelia May Nieman. They married in 1930. Howard and Amelia had 5 children together.
He worked many jobs over the years; but the longest was for the railroad and the NFT, until his retirement in 1972.
In 1937 Howard was saved according to Acts 2:38; and began his ministry under another pastor.
In 1949 he founded Christ Temple. The church began in rented facilities; storefronts and a few purchased buildings; until finally settling at 97 Pine Ridge Road in Cheektowaga.
Reverend Holtz's lifelong ministry led many souls to Jesus.
Howard was predeceased by his wife Amelia Holtz and son Leroy.
At the time of his death; he was survived by 4 children; 15 grandchildren and 24 great - grandchildren.
He was greatly loved and respected in the community and the church. We will deeply miss his smile, his love of teasing and especially his cheery whistle.
