Dorothy J. Carson, 85, of Lincoln and formerly of McLeansboro, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2008, at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.
She was born in Macedonia on July 6, 1923, a daughter of Evan and Cynthia (Harris) Johnson. She married Walter "Bud" Carson on Nov. 6, 1940, and he preceded her in death. She was a retired seamstress, having worked at the former Decatur Garment Company in McLeansboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Ron Lamp officiating. Interment will follow at Ten Mile Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Carl Steven Carson and wife Tedra of Lubbock, Texas; daughters, Dee Ann Davis and husband Joseph Wayne of Jefferson City, Mo., and Cynthia Jo Johnson and husband Gerald Dean of Atlanta, Ill.; three grandchildren, Robert Neal Carson, Bryan Carson and Matthew Robert Davis; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Patricia Campbell; two brothers and six sisters.
Dorothy was a member of Springerton Christian Church.
