Mr. Ambrose S. Hudson died in Nel-
son on the 6th inst., after a long ill-
ness, aged about 60 years. He was a son
of the late Edward Hudson, who
resided in and died in this village nearly
sixty years ago. The father was quite
a prominent man in his day and repre-
sented the county in the assembly in 1824.
Subsequently he was engaged as contractor
in building the Delaware and Hudson canal,
in the southern part of the state, where
he was stricken with fever, and returned
home and died after several months illness.
