Confederate Private who was with Co. D, 4th North Carolina Cavalry. Was with Gen. Robert E. Lee & J.E.B Stewart at the battle of Gettysburg. Accompanied Gen. Lee at the surrender in Appomattox Va. Was made to surrender his weapons & horse & was made to walk back to Northampton Co. NC. There are thirteen references of John Wesley Boone being with this unit from July 8, 1862 until the surrender on April 9, 1865. Son of Allen Boone (1803-1866) & Rebecca Garriss Boone (1803-1850) Husband to Emma J. Barrett (1840-1912)
