Frank Robert Dunlavey, 75, died peacefully surrounded by his family in his Simi Valley home on Sunday, June 13, 2004.
Frank was born in Chicago, Ill., on Feb. 7, 1929. He moved from Kankakee, Ill., to Simi Valley in 1967 and had been a county resident for 37 years. Frank worked for Lockheed Corp. for five years, then for General Motors for 20 years. He was very active in the United Auto Workers union, in which he worked for the union as a liaison to GM from 1958 until he retired in October of 1990.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Dunlavey and children Diana & Bruce. He is survived by his sons Robert & Tim, daughters Cindy, Deborah, Linda & Cheryl; two sisters, Gloria Thompson of, Calif., and Mary Jane Calvert; brother, William Dunlavey of Bourbonnias, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, in the chapel at Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home, 2636 Sycamore Drive. A funeral Mass celebrating Frank's life will follow at noon in St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 2380 Stow St., Simi Valley. Burial will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 1380 Fitzgerald Road, Simi Valley.
