Daniel is the son of Simon/Simeon Pearson Holden and 2nd wife Nancy Dwyer. [Simon's 1st wife was Sarah Kennedy, three children born to Sarah & Simon; Lydia Holden Rogers; Verlinda Holden Williams and Amelia Holden]

Bobby Holden, GGrandson of Simon P., said about 1850 his grandfather Simon and several of the children moved back near the Pearl River [Hancock Co], where other Holden family members lived. Simon served in the War of 1812, his burial is in The Holden Cemetery, Kiln, Hancock Co MS.
