Known to most Louisvillians as "The Lady in Blue" of the Seelbach Hotel, Pearl Mae Elliott was born in Davenport, Oklahoma in 1910 to Annie and Albert Elliott. Pearl was the second of the Elliott's 4 children. Older brother, Frankie Lee Elliott was born in 1906. Younger brother John Elliott was born in 1913 and younger sister, Ruby Faye Elliott was born in 1915. All the children were orphaned by 1919 and were placed in foster care. Pearl may have married a man named Charles B Wilson or "L.B." Wilson prior to moving to Louisville Kentucky in 1934. She changed her first name from Pearl to Patricia. In 1936, Pearl died in a tragic accident by falling down an elevator shaft at the Seelbach Hotel. She was known to friends and neighbors as "Patricia Wilson" at the time of her death. In 2018, Pearl's surviving family members discovered that Pearl was buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville and came to Louisville to mark her grave with a headstone.
