Lonetta K. Ivey, 75, Pocatello, died Monday evening, June 30, 2008, at a local health care center.
She was born May 8, 1933, in Preston, Idaho, to Joseph Comish and Alease Kofed Larsen. She graduated from Pocatello High School and attended Idaho State University. After graduation from high school she worked for the Telephone Company and they gave her the opportunity to attend ISU.
She married Robert H. Ivey February 4, 1954, in Pocatello, Idaho.
Lonetta loved education and she continued to take classes at the university. She worked at many part-time jobs including ticket taker at Holt Arena. She loved bridge and all types of card games, reading and crossword puzzles. She was very family orientated. She was a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority.
Lonetta is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Rob (Deanna) Ivey, Knoxville, Tennessee, Kirk (Miriam) Ivey, Boise, Idaho; two daughters, Kim Michelle (Rock) Madsen, Boise, Idaho, and Jackie A. (Blair) Parkin, Pocatello, Idaho. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, five great-grandsons; one brother, Joseph Larsen; and one sister, Karen Marchand. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dorian.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the Cornelison-Henderson Funeral Chapel, 431 North 15th Ave., Pocatello, with Bishop Alan Spidell conducting. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Cremation has been completed. Interment of cremains will follow services at Mountain View Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Ashley Manor for their loving care of their wife, mother and grandmother.
Memorials may be given in Lonetta's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 4696 Overland Road No. 482, Boise, Idaho 83705.
