Born in Banks County, Ga., on Sept. 15, 1916, he came to Dundee from Georgia in 1938. He was an automotive mechanic. He was a former city commissioner for Dundee. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.
Mr. Ivey is survived by his wife, Myrtice Sizemore Ivey; sons, Dorsey Lloyd Ivey, Clarksville, Tenn., David Gerald Ivey, Dundee, Roger LaDon Ivey, Fort Pierce; daughters, Barbara Faye Ellis, Dundee, Anita Lynette Latto, Winter Haven, Cynthia Ann Mixon, Lake Wales; brothers, Wilford Ivey and George Ivey, both of Dundee, Herbert Ivey, Brandon; sisters, Frankie Barker and Drama Bunton, both of Dundee; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 this evening at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
