REWEY, Wis. -- Robert W. "Bob" Quinlan, 63, of Rewey, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at his home, after a courageous battle with melanoma.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, at the Gorgen-McGinley & Ayers Funeral Home, Dodgeville, with the Rev. Steven Kottke officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, Hazel Green, where military rites will be accorded by the Dodgeville Veterans. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
He was born on Oct. 19, 1944, in Hazel Green, son of Clarence and Cecelia (Runde) Quinlan. He attended Milltown School and farmed until he was drafted into the Army.
He ran the Quinlan Cafe in Livingston and was employed at Lands' End, Dodgeville, for the past 18 years.
Bob enjoyed family, friends, the woods, gardening, cooking, telling jokes, cribbage, the word jumble and his dog, Sparky.
Surviving are his sons, Timothy (Kristin) Quinlan, of Renfrew, Pa., and their daughters, Hannah and Kate, and Jason Quinlan, of Tucson, Ariz.; special friend of 11 years, Donna Tallard; his two brothers, Myron Quinlan, of Hazel Green, and Clarence (Joyce) Quinlan Jr., of Black Earth; three sisters, Pauline Morrill, of Marion, Iowa, Donna (Bill) Weigman, of Hazel Green, and Doris (Thomas) Oster, of East Dubuque, Ill.; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn Bennett; and brother-in-law, James Morrill.
