Jim Brackett, Electrician 71, of 417 W. Ballard St. died Feb. 6, 1995, at Cleveland Memorial Hospital in Shelby. Funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member. The Rev. Brent Walker will officiate. Burial will be in City Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 7:30 tonight at Carpenter's Funeral Home.

Mr. Brackett, an electrician and maintenance worker for City of Cherryville and Carolina Freight Carriers, was born in Cleveland County, son of the late Yates and Ada Mae McGinnis Brackett. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Grace Ledwell Brackett; sons, Tommy Brackett, James Brackett; brother, Ben Brackett of Belvedere, S.C.; sisters, Mrs. Nora Hogan of Vero Beach, Fla., Mrs. Geneva Queen of Danville, Va., Mrs. Lillian Brown; three grandchildren.
