Services for Veta Mary Clark, 83, were held Monday, Sept. 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sulphur United Methodist Church with Rev. Emery Mason officiating. Interment was at the Mill Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
She was born on Monday, Oct. 21, 1918 in Mannsville to John Thomas Tucker and Georgia Orr Tucker. She died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002 in Ardmore.
She grew up in this area and graduated from Mill Creek High. She was married to Chester Belcher. After this marriage she married Robert Clark on October 6, 1990 in Mill Creek. They lived in Grand Prairie, Texas and Sulphur, working in the retail business. He preceded her in death on June, 29 2001. She was a member of the Sulphur Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and James Harden, Mill Creek; one brother, Tom Tucker, Oklahoma City; five sisters, Monnie Kirby, Yukon, Reba Harris, and Edith Thorne, both of Oklahoma City; Dorothy Wyskap, Harrah, Neomie Tucker, Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gary Donald Belcher and a sister Winnie Burgess.
Pallbearers were Steve Miller, Terry Reed, Glenn O'Neal, Kenny Smith, Perry Clement, and Allen Chandler. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Bivens, Jack Penner, and Greg Brown.
