Edward Lee Abbott, 68
MUNCIE - Edward Lee Abbott, 68, Muncie, passed away Thursday morning, June 30, 2005 at Ball Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Mooreland, on October 5, 1936, the son of Wilbur and Lora Brown Abbott.
Mr. Abbott graduated from Mooreland High School in 1955, and graduated from Ivy Tech in 1990.
He was owner/operator of the Stanford's Sewing Machine and Sweeper Service.
Edward was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church, Master Gardeners, A.L.L., Indiana Beekeeepers Association and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Some of Ed's greatest pleasures in life included working in his garden, tending to his bees, and spending time with his great neices and nephews.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandra (Stanford); one son, Shawn D. Abbott, Chang Chun, China; two sisters, Linda White (husband-Bruce), Lakewood, Colorado and Penny Surber (husband-Tim), Zionsville; two brothers, Ronald Abbott (wife-Erika), Mooreland and Don Abbott, Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2005, 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory with Rev. Paul Fulp officiating.
Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Tuesday evening, July 5, 2005 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory from 4 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service time on Wednesday.
