TIMES RECORD Obituary:

Lora Peters, 87, of Van Buren, went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 16, 2007, in Fort Smith. She was born October 10, 1919, in Crawford County. Lora was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, the Rev. Archie Peters; two daughters, Sharon Jones and Barbara Ann Gregory; and son Layon Peters.

Survivors include a daughter, Alta Jones of Van Buren; three sons, Archie and Fay Peters, both of Van Buren, and Curtis D. Peters of Chester; three sisters, Betty Stockton and Audrey Moses, both of Van Buren, and Zelma Brisco of Fort Smith; one brother, Clyde Yakley of Van Buren; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-granchildren and three great-great granchildren.

Funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2007, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith with interment at Gill Cemetery, officiated by the Rev Kyle Goss.

Pallbearers will be Darrell, Scott, Donald and Ronnie Peters, Gregory Layndall Burrow and Josh Jones.

Family will receive friends Thursday, April 19, 2007, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith.
Viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m Thursday. End of obit.

Also preceding Lora Peters in death are: her parents, Herman and Carrie (Wood) Yakley Sr., her brother Herman Yakley Jr., her sisters, Patricia Knox and Flora Mae Neidecker and her granddaughter, Tammy Michelle Peters.
