HOLLIS, HAROLD GILBERT

Mr. Harold G. Hollis of Van Ormer, died unexpectedly June 5, 1989 while vacationing in Athens Greece. Mr. Hollis retired as owner and operator of Hollis Garage, Van Ormer, after 43 years, he was born Sept. 6, 1911 in Frugality, the son of Gilbert and Bessie Matilda (Beers) Hollis and June 22, 1942 in Cumberland Md. married Nellie S. Shaeffer. Surviving are his wife, four children John H. of Bedford RD., Thomas S. of Hollentown, James N. and Evelyn E. Nobel (Noel) of Fallentimber and eight grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister Helen Livings of Fairfax, Va. and four stepsisters: Thelma Jensen and Lorraine McCrary in Maryland and Irene Kimble and Florence Branson in Virginia. Mr. Hollis was a member of Cross Roads Bible Church, Glasgow. He was a member and a past master of Coalport Lodge, F & AM; Altoona Consistory, and Jaffa Shrine. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood.

HOLLIS - Services for Harold G. Hollis of Box 320, Fallentimber RD, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, by Pastor Tracy A. Plessinger. Interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Janet Hollis on Aug. 19, 1975.
