Marie MacFarland Kennedy Chop
MECHANICSBURG - Marie M. Kennedy Chop, 93, of The Bridges of Bent Creek, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at The Bridges of Bent Creek.
Born May 15, 1915, in Metztown (Huntingdon County), PA, she was the daughter of Mae Lorena Metz and William Hugh Kennedy. She was married to Adolph Chop on August 13, 1942, at the home of Rev. C. O. Anderson in Belleville.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband Adolph, and her son, Charles W. Chop, a brother Eldon Kennedy and two sisters, Ruth Margaret Kennedy Jones and Helen Grace Kennedy DeForrest.
Surviving are her sisters, Lorena Mae Kennedy Meyer (Longwood, FL), Marian Arlene Kennedy Longenecker, (Petersburg, PA) and Doris Louise Kennedy Wilson (Belleville, PA). Also surviving are two granddaughters, Leslie Chop Hall and husband Neil, and their daughter Ashley, of Mechanicsburg; and Jennifer Chop Deininger and husband Eric, and their children Sophia Kathryn and Nathan Charles, of West Chester; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Chop, of Florida.
Marie was a retired registered nurse and graduate of the Women's Hospital of Philadelphia. She worked at Altoona, Mercy, Bedford and Everett hospitals.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, at Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville, with Dr. William H. Stotler, officiating.
Interment will be in Allensville Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to l American Cancer Society, Mifflin/Juniata Unit, 324 Logan Blvd., Burnham, PA 17009.
Arrangements are under the care of Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville, PA.
