SULPHUR -- Services for Emmatt Choyce Owens, 93, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Brad Ransom officiating. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery. Born on Sept. 15, 1911, in Provence, to Samuel and Georgia M. Warwick Owens, he died on Dec. 14, 2004, in Ardmore.
A resident of this area most of his life, he attended school at Provence and was a former airplane electrician. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. He and Ruth Jones were married in 1936 in Sulphur.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Gayle McCook, Los Angeles; sons, Harold, Ardmore, and James, Tacoma, Wash.; a brother, Sam, Oklahoma City; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles; a brother, Virgil; a sister, Grace Thompson, and two granddaughters.
Thursday at Clagg Funeral Home.
