Harry was 70 years old when he died. Lung cancer contributed to other ailments which caused his death. He smoked most of his life.

He worked for the Railway Mail Service most of his working career. Harry had the most beautiful handwriting and would often address (in longhand) event invitations for family and friends.

As a member of the local Denver Elks lodge, he promoted local boxing matches during the 1940's and early 1950's.

He would often scare the grandchildren by removing his upper partial dental plate and show it to them.
