Peggy was raised from the age of 6 by her grandparents, Spencer Andrew and Nellie Eads in Piedmont, Wayne County, Missouri. This was after the untimely death of her father Clinton Chester Eads. She married John Lava Fears September 27,1942. In the early years of their marriage they lived and worked on the Eads family farm and took care of Spencer and Nellie until their deaths in 1950.
