Funeral services for Victor M. Russell, 93, of Hawkins will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24 2013, at First Baptist Church in Hawkins with Dr. Bill Holmes officiating. Interment will be in the Hawkins Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Mr. Russell passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 in a Tyler hospice.
Mr. Russell was born February 19, 1919 in Hainesville, TX, to Will and Willie Russell. He was a retired owner of the Hawkins Exxon Service Station, charter member of the Hawkins Rotary Club, Master Mason 33rd Degree of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner, charter member of the Hawkins Masonic Lodge, a deacon and member of the First Baptist Church of Hawkins.
He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Russell of Hawkins; sister, Reba Herbert of Huntsville; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Buford Russell, Benford Russell, Ray Russell, Herman Russell and Cue Russell; sister, Edna Allaire.
Pallbearers will be Richard Hammonds, Carl Hammonds, Michael Smith, Stephen Smith, Joshua Prestridge and Jacob Prestridge.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2012 Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins.
