His parents are buried at Crumly Chapel Cemetery in Forestdale, Jefferson County, Alabama. They are Carlo Martin Anderson and Vera Mae Trammell Anderson(she is listed for the moment as Vera Mary Anderson on findagrave.com). Notice the difference in the spelling of the name. His father's name was changed from the Danish Andersen, to the Swedish Anderson when he immigrated to the US. Jack changed the spelling of his name back to the Andersen.

William Christian Andersen, 75, died July, 29, 2008, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson after a lengthy illness. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home. Services are at the funeral home at 10 AM Friday, August 1, 2008, with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Andersen was born November 17, 1932, in Columbus, Ms, to Carlo and Vera Andersen. He lived most of his childhood in the Birmingham, Alabama, area. He was married to his wife, Jo Ann Donaldson Andersen, for 57 years. She preceded him in death in August of 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings.

Jack enlisted at age 17 in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served with the 1st battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, in the Korean War Conflict as a sergeant. In his civilian life, he worked in sales ? first working for a family owned candy wholesale business in Tupelo. He then worked for Wonder Bread in Eupora where he won a Thunderbird for being the top salesman in the nation. He was promoted to general manager and worked in Shreveport and Bossier City Louisiana. He returned to Columbus where he retired as general sales manager for Dairymen, Inc. He managed Andersen Enterprises of Columbus, Ms, until his move to Clinton in 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Frances Lewis and husband Bruce of Weatherford, Oklahoma; son, Steve Andersen and wife, Kathie, of Clinton; honorary son, Ernest Lang and wife Pam of Columbus.

The grandchildren, to whom he was known as Paw Paw, are Matthew Lewis and wife Diana of Saginaw, Texas; Kimberly Chavez and husband Andrew of Chicago, Illinois; Sophorn Pich and wife Khesey of Mesquite, Texas; PFC Chris Andersen of Camp Lejuene, North Carolina; Katie and Jordy Andersen of Clinton; Ernest Lang, Jr., and Cassie Lang of Columbus. There are 6 great-grandchildren
