William K. "Bill" Eldert, 66, of Danforth, IL, died at 8:00 A. M., Monday, March 24, 2008 at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee, IL., following a six year illness.
His prayer service will be at 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman, IL. Private Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 28, 2008 at Redenius Funeral Home and also 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home in Galesburg on Monday, March 31, 2008. Bill was born on March 27, 1941 in Galesburg, IL to Arvid & Naomi (Haptonstall) Eldert. His childhood was spent in Galesburg. He graduated from Galesburg High School. He married Jennefer R. Wetherford on February 14, 1964. She survives. Survivors include - three children - Andrea Kay Eldert of Gilman, Aaron &(Renee) of Remington, IN., and Arik Eldert of Redondo Beach, California. His mother - Naomi Eldert of Galesburg, IL. Three grandchildren - Joelle, Megan and Zane. Two brothers - Maurice and Dennis both of Galesburg. One Uncle - Maurice Haptonstall of Galesburg and One Aunt - Wyona Illes of Toulon, IL. Several Nieces and Nephews. Pre-decedents - his father - Arvid and grandparents.
Bill moved from Galesburg to Gilman in 1967. He also lived in Onarga for several years. He was a member of the Mission Covenant Church in Galesburg. Bill was a farmer and truck driver for Apolis Transportation in Peotone, IL. He enjoyed family, friends, camping, tractor pulls and trucking.
