Corliss A. Smith, 70, of 481 Paxon Hallow Road, Broomall, and Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Franklin, died recently at his residence in Broomall. He had resided in Port Orange for 10 years. Born July 25, 1932, in Meadville, he was the son of Clarence W. and Marian Frances Gable Smith Fox.
Mr. Smith was a 1950 graduate of Rocky Grove High School and completed three years of study at Boston College. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Mr. Smith was grounds superintendent for American Motorcycle Institute in Daytona, Fla., and also worked for Florida Federal Savings & Loan Association.
Surviving are five children, Steven, Laura, Paul, Mark, and William; two brothers, Jerome E. Smith of Broomall and Ellwood M. Smith of Wayne; five sisters, Donna L. Snyder of Polk, Colleen J. Ahrens of Oil City, Patricia R. Lindberg and husband, Richard, of Sandusky, N.Y., Carol M. Campbell and husband, Charles, of Berea, Ohio, and Lois L. Kline and husband, Arthur "Jim," of Franklin; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Smith of Franklin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde "Bill" Smith, and Keith Smith; and his daughter, Stacey Smith.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald C. Bole, VNA Hospice pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Lupher Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Taylor Hospice, 300 Johnson Ave., P.O. Box 147, Ridley Park, 19078-2284.
