The baptismal certificate of Anna Magdalena, written in German, was handed down in the Hahn family, and in the 1940s was in the Hickory North Carolina area, according to research notes by Ralph Taft Shell of Chicago, Illinois. It is translated as follows: Anna Magdalena Schell was born the 29th of June 1770. Parents are Casper Schell and the mother Anna Catharina Gertrude, who was born Bott. Witnesses were Johannes Feigley and his wife Anna Ursula. She was born in York County in Hamden township (now Cumberland County, Pennsylvania). The Lord granted this an eternal blessing. Amen. A family note was added: Anna Madgalena Schell died 7-27-1854.
