In 1947, at age 17, Gisele came to the United States as a G.I. War bride and moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana where she lived until 1968. She then moved to Lafayette, Louisiana where she lived the remainder of her life. Gisele deeply loved the adventures, as well as, the humor of life. She was an accomplished artist and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon Carriton and Germaine (Cunin) Carriton; her youngest son, Christian Johnson of Lafayette, Louisiana.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Daniel and Ruthie Bertrand, Micky and Regenia Bertrand, Gary Bertrand and Ricardo and Dana Johnson; eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
