Mr. Baer was stricken with paralysis Friday night and Sunday morning he was lying cold in death. He was injured some time ago in a runaway accident and has been forced to walk with a crutch ever since.
Mr. Baer was born at Waterloo, New York, 1830, and at twenty-nine years of age he wedded Mary Closson, who survives him. He served in the Civil war from 1862 to 1863. After the war he came here and has lived here ever, since. When he first came here he started what is now the Menomonee hotel, later he established a store,
which.was conducted with success. He is survived by a wife and eight sons and daughters, all being married.
His remains were laid at rest in the Sunny Side cemetery after the services on Wednesday afternoon."
In the 1890 Veterans census Isaac R. Baer is listed as a Private in Co. K 1 Regt. Wis.. HA. He enlised Sept 23, 1864 and was discharged June 26 1865. He served 9 months 3 days. His post office address was Menomonee falls.
