Gertrude M. Knoblock, 90, of Port Austin, Michigan, died Oct. 23, 1999, at Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe.

She was born on March 27, 1909 in Port Austin, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Zimpkoski) Sosnoski.

She and Edwin Knoblock were married on Feb. 24, 1930 in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Austin. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1995.

Gertrude was a member of St. Michael's and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was an avid gardener. Her family was her greatest joy.

She was survived by eight daughters, Florence Yaroch and her husband, Lawrence, of Illinois, Lorraine Kelterborn and her husband, David, Lillian Dolan, Irene Pettit and her husband, Irvin, and Venice Clancy and her husband, Gene, all of Port Austin, Betty Jane Hertel, Karen Gilbreath and her husband, Jack, and Linda Burger and her husband, Paul, all of Ann Arbor; six sons, Edwin Knoblock and his wife, Patricia, and Eldon Knoblock, all of Port Austin, Kenneth Knoblock and his wife, Belle, of Lapeer, Daniel Knoblock of White Lake, Donald Knoblock and his wife, Marilou, of Kinde, and Gary Knoblock and his wife, Beth, of Port Austin; 36 grand-children; 48 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Baranski and her husband, John, and Helen Ignash, all of Port Austin; two brothers, Harold Sosnoski and his wife, Dolly, of Port Austin, Raymond Sosnoski and his wife, Gustavia, of Bad Axe; three sisters-in-law, Florence Sosnoski of Warren, Mary Sosnoski of Port Austin and Vera Sosnoski of Kinde.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, John Knoblock; one sister, Irene Koroleski; and three brothers, Edwin, Sylvester and Stanley.
