Eugene A. Buckminster was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, in 1864; died at his home in Corning, Mo., Saturday morning Sept 26, at the age of 51 years.

His life from the teen age has been spent in Holt county in and near Corning. He had been engaged in the barber business at the latter place for 25 years. About one year ago he became troubled with a sore on the back of the tongue which later developed in cancer resulting in his death.

He was a man respected by all who knew him and the large congregation that attended the funeral evidenced the esteem in which he was held by his friends. He leaves a wife, three sons, two brothers and six sisters and a large number of relatives and friends to mourn his departure.

Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church by Rev R.A. Thompson, of Plattsburg, Mo. Interment held at the Mount Hope cemetery conducted by the W.O.W. of which he was a member. THE FAIRFAX FORUM, Fairfax, Missouri, 02 Oct 1914 Fri, page 3
