Everett was only 12 years old when he was killed. One day three of his friends went out with him to shoot pigeons as they did so often only this time when they shot one it landed on the roof of the barn. The boys climbed up to get it & one of them brushed against a live wire. Getting a small tingle from it they then dared Everett to touch it. Everitt grabed it with both hands & was killed instantly. Grandma always said it was one of the most horrible days of her life. He went out the door saying bye mom I'll be right back & then the other boys were coming in yelling that Everett was dead. She found him. She always had tears in her eyes when she talked of him even years later. My mom was only six but she remembered every now & again crawling under the kitchen cupboard to cry for him. He was never forgotten.
