OBITUARY: YORK - Anna P. Wantz, 79, of York, died at 4:31 p.m. Saturday at York
Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert V. Wantz.
The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Fairview Church of the Brethren,
1879 New Fairview Church Road, York. Burial will be in New Fairview Church
Cemetery. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral
Home Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the
church.
Mrs. Wantz was born March 27, 1919, in York Township. She was the daughter of
the late Clarence and Emma Jane (Ness) Markey.
She was a lifetime farmer, and a partner of Wantz Butcher Shop in Hellam
Township. She was a member of Yorkana Church of the Brethren, ARC of York and
the 700 Club. She attended Eastern Market.
Mrs. Wantz is survived by two sons, Robert V. Wantz Jr. and Marlin L. Wantz,
both of York; three daughters, Martha A. Keeny of Winterstown, Mary J. Grim of
Red Lion and Ruth A. Dougherty of York; 15 grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Markey of Red Lion and Robert
Markey of Spry.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. John E. Krape.
