Bessie was the daughter of James A. & Hassie Smithson Jones. She married David Eugene Bell 25 Nov, 1943 at Fork's of Pike, Dekalb Co., TN.. They had one child Charles David Bell.

OBITUARY....Services for Mrs. Bessie Lee Bell, 71, who died Wednesday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center after an extended illness, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday at Jennings & Ayres Chapel with burial in Milton Cemetery. John Fortner will officiate. Her parents were the late James and Hassie Mai Smithson Jones. She is survived by her husband, David Bell; son, Charles (Sarah) Bell of Milton; brother, Clyde (Opal) Jones of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Charles Bell and Dawn Bell. A grandson and nephews will be pallbearers. A member of the Milton Church of Christ and a native of Cannon County, she had lived in Rutherford County the past 50 years.
