HENRIETTA, Texas - Lee Winslow Aday, 82, of Byers, Texas, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at the Byers First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Louis Pearce, pastor of the Grant Street United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas, officiating and Rev. James Keenum, pastor of the Byers Assembly of God assisting. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Byers, Texas, under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta, Texas.
Mr. Aday was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Ellis County, Texas, to Robert and Bonnie (Bell) Aday. He married Betty Varner Feb. 19, 1949, in Byers, Texas. He worked in furniture sales with Southmore Furniture. He was a member of the Byers First United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He served on the Clay County Tax Appraisal District Board. Winslow and Betty were also honored by the Byers Hornet Booster Club as Boosters of the Year.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Aday of Byers, Texas; son, Donnie Aday of Henrietta, Texas; son, David Aday of Byers, Texas; brother, Randall Aday of Dallas, Texas; sister, Christine Adam of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Chris Aday, Jason Aday, Skylar Aday, Tres Aday and Clint Aday; and two great-grandchildren, Cassie Altherr and Gavin Aday.
