Curtis Harold V, 50, (b. 9-27-1899 - d. 2-8-1950) director of the Noble County Welfare Department, died Wednesday at his office in Albion following a heart attack. He was dictating letters to his secretary when stricken. A lifelong resident of this community, he was active in county Democratic circles, having been county clerk from 1932-1940 and from 1940-1946 he was clerk of the Noble County Selective Service Board. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Albion, the Scottish Rite Consistory of Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Mizpah Shrine, the Albion IOOF and the Kendallville Elks Lodge. From 1946 to 1949 he was employed by the Chilcote & Kitt Co. of Albion. Surviving are the wife, Pansy; a son, James, Bryan, Ohio; one granddaughter, Kathy Curtis, and two brothers, Henry of Albion and Harley of Gary. Services Friday in Albion Evangelical United Brethren Church, of which he was a member. Burial, Rose Hill Cemetery
