A native of Lexington, she was a 1958 graduate of the old Dunbar High School. She accepted Christ at an early age at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Dr. G. M. Smith and later united and became a faithful member of Historic Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church where she served in several capacities: Coordinator of the Christian Academy and Christian Life Center, former Director of the Youth Department, and was a member of the Scholarship Committee, Ministers, Deacons, and Trustees Wives Fellowship, Forty-Year Christians, and the Mass and Sanctuary Choirs. She was a retired employee of GTE serving for 37 years. After retirement, she attended Midway College receiving a B.S. in Education. She was an employee of Fayette County Public Schools for the past five years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 46 years, Sherman E. Fields, Sr., one son Sherman E. Fields, II, a brother William Adams III, sister-in-law Linda Adams, one first cousin James (Dolly) White, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Tue, March 4, 2008. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until time of service. Dr. T. H. Peoples, Jr., Pastor, officiating.
