Son of Grover Green and Pauline Nera Clanin Bourland.
He married Vera Lorene Reasoner on 28 Sep 1949. Four sons were born: James, Randy, Milan, and Tim.
Milan loved music and was self-taught. He played the guitar, mandolin and banjo. He made music an important part of his ministry as he and Vera played together to bring the family, God's family and sinners to the table of repentance and rejoicing.
Milan was saved and within a few months answered God's call to the ministry. He received a junior college degree from Mt. Zion Bible School in 1948 and completed his Bachelor of Theology at Kansas City College and Bible School in 1951.
Some of his ministerial efforts were:
Herriman Chapel, Brush Arbor, Kinser Chapel, Lowry City, El Monte, California, Black Jack, and Log Church.
He taught at Mt. Zion Bible School for 17 years and served in several other capacities there, including Dean of Students, business manager, editor and publisher of The Reporter, and as principal and president. He also served the Lord and the Church of God (Holiness) with extended periods of minister to both the Home and World Missions Boards, the Publishing Board and the Convention Roll Committee.
