GILMAN - Doris Elaine Simnick, 62, of 332 N. Chamberlin St., Gilman, a homemaker, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday (March 2, 1994) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, after a sudden illness.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman, the Rev. John D.E. Story officiating. Burial will be in Wenger Cemetery, Gilman.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born July 21, 1931, in Gilman, the daughter of Carl and Mary Guthrie Pence. She married Thomas Paul "Tim" Simnick on June 28, 1957, in Watseka. He died Sept. 2, 1990.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen, Danforth, and Tim, Glenview; four daughters, Barbara McIntyre, Kathleen Simnick and Brittaney Simnick, all of Gilman, and Katrina Simnick, Hammond, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her parents, five sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
She grew up in Gilman and attended Gilman schools. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting.
She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Gilman.

She married Thomas Paul "Tim" or "TP" Simnick on June 28,1957. He died Sept. 2, 1990 in Gilman.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law,Stephen and Liesa Simnick of Danforth and Timothy and Renita Simnick of Glenview; four daughters and one son-in-law, Barbara and Ed McIntyre, Kathleen and Brittaney Simnick of Gilman,and Katrina of Hammond Indiana; grandchildren, Stephanie,Kevin, Eric, Thomas Kyle and Calli Simnick, Nathan Kuipers, Paul and Carl McIntyre, Rachael Carringer.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Virgie Sapp, Gladys Lain, Leona Campbell, Juanita Short and Barbara Pence,and three brothers, Walter, Leroy and Marion Pence.

Doris was a graduate of Gilman high and enjoyed cooking, crocheting and mostly being with her family.

Services were held at the Redenius Funeral Home with the Rev. John D.E. Story officiating and burial in the Wenger Cemetery, Gilman.
