B.J. Allison

B.J. Allison, 68, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Laughlin Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. William Long officiating.

Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Allison, a native of Huntsville, attended Jacksonville State College and played football there. He received a B.A. degree in sociology from Athens State College and a law degree from Blackburn School of Law. He served as program director for physical activities at the Central YMCA, where he developed extensive youth and adult programs. He was a commercial and residential real estate developer and active in civic functions. He was a veteran of Korea and a member of the Space City Lions Club, the VFW and First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Maye Lackey Allison; a daughter, Jeri Allison Roberts of Ocean Isle, N.C.; a son, Berry Kirk Allison of Charlotte, N.C.; and a granddaughter.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, The Huntsville Humane Society or The Ark.
