Howard Aaron Drake was the son of William Curtis and Elvira Cordelia Cosleman/Castleman Drake. He married Ida Lou Brannon Feb 2, 1912 in Lyra, Palo Pinto, TX. They had four children: Maurice William, Allen Lee, Aaron Carol "Oran" Drake, and Shirley Neal "Bill" Drake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son, Allen Lee Drake. He was survived by three of his children and four siblings.
