His marriage to the former Helen Achenbach took place Jan. 7, 1939, in Elkton, Md. She survives.
The retired naval officer was a submarine commander assigned to the USS Pogy and USS Loggerhead during World War II. He was awarded two Navy Crosses, a Silver and a Bronze Star, and a Navy Unit Citation while commanding the USS Pogy. After World War II, he worked for Lockheed Missile and Space Corporation and was an account executive with Paine Webber/UBS.
In addition to his wife of 69 years, survivors include one daughter, Marshall Metcalf Seymour; two grandchildren, Peter DuBois Seymour and Randle Bingham Seymour; and three great-grandchildren, Jonathan Bingham Seymour, William Hamilton Seymour and Charles Michael Seymour.
Services were held July 23 at St. Andrews Church in Saratoga, Calif.
Burial will be at a later date in Carrollton.
