William Ward Pinkerton was the son of Reverend James Parrish Pinkerton (1845-1934) and Katherine S Patterson (1849-1910).

Will married Lura VanElla Kayser on 29 Oct 1900 in Midland, Midland County, Texas.

They had ten children:

Last rites for W.W. Pinkerton, 73, of Halfway, Texas, were conducted here this afternoon. Pinkerton died Sunday morning at the Plainview hospital after an illness of several weeks.
Rev. R.R. Gilbreath, assistan pastor of the Plainview First Methodist church, assisted by Rev. W.C. Hinds Plainview district superintendent, and Rev. A.O. Graydon, pastor of the Halfway Methodist church, officiated. Services were held at 2 o'clock at the First Methodist Church.

William Ward Pinkerton was born Sep 6, 1874, in Emporia, Kansas. He lived in the Halfway community for the past 38 years, engaging in farming. For thirteen years until he retired two years ago he managed the Edmonson elevator.

Mr. Pinkerton was a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellow lodges and the Halfway Methodist Church of which he had served as a steward since the church was organized in 1919. He was one of the organizers of the Consumers Fuel Association and was a director the firm.

William Ward Pinkerton and Miss Lura V. Kayser were married October 29, 1900, at Midland, Texas. She is among survivors. Other survivors are eight sons, Albert Pinkerton, McAllen, J.W. Pinkerton, Fort Worth, Texas, Louis Pinkerton, Monahans, Texas, W.A. Pinkerton, Edmonson, Texas, Robert, Ward, and Owen Pinkerton, all of Halfway, Texas, and Cecil Pinkerton Washington D.C.; a daughter, Miss Lura Helen Pinkerton, Washington D.C.; a brother, Lewis Pinkerton, Versailles, MO.; three sisters, Mrs. Patrick Bernie, San Antonio, TX, Mrs. Lloyd Wood, Ada OK, and Mrs Ernest Ferguson, Springfield, IL. and nine grandchildren. All the children were at the funeral.
