Survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace G. Darling; a son, Hugh B. Darling; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence B. Page; 3 brothers, Morris (Dick), Louis and Walter D.; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Hardy; 10 grandchildren (Grandfather of Stephen Wesley Page).

(Preceded in death by a brother, Henry E. Darling.)

Services at the Greenleaf Funeral Home, Tuesday, 10 a.m., Rev. Ben Perkins officiating.

Interment Assumption Cemetery.

Friends may call at 503 W. Onondaga St. Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Contributions may be made to Faith Heritage Schools - either Cortland or Syracuse.

CHARLES W. DARLING, 72, of RD1, Strong Road, Tully, died yesterday at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital.

A native of Syracuse, Mr. Darling was a painter and decorator and a life member of the Painters Union Local 30.

Mr. Darling was a member of the Syracuse Astronomical Society. He donated two acres of his land in Tully to the society where they built an observatory and named it Darling Hill.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace G. Darling; a son, Hugh B. Darling of Howlett Hill; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence B. Page of Jordan; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Hardy of Nedrow; three brothers, Morris (Dick) of East Syracuse, Louis of Mattydale and Walter Darling of Chittenago; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Greenleaf Funeral Home, the Rev. Ben Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.

Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Faith Heritage School of Syracuse or Cortland.
