Gertie S. Grisham, aged 96, of Alpena, died Friday, July 17, 1992, at North Arkansas Medical Center in Harrison, AR. She was born September 15, 1895 in Compton, AR a daughter of Millard and Mandy Smith.
She was a housewife and a member of the Alpena Gospel Hall.
Survivors included two sons, Edd Grisham of Green Forest, Roy Lee Grisham of McAlester, OK; four daughters, Eula Oxford of Harrison, Modena Roberts of Alpena, Agnes Dillen of Harrison, Polly Turney of Harrison; a brother, Delmar Smith of Alpena; a sister Lillian Ursery of Alpena; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren, and 21 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Grisham; five brothers, and three sisters.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 20, 1992 at Holt Memorial Chapel in Harrison with Rev. Al Shutt officiating.
Burial was in Alpena under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Ross Fowler, Dr. Mahlon Maris, Dr. James Crider, and all of the grandchildren.
