Glenn T. Seyller, 88, of Huntley and formerly of Plato Center, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Rosewood Nursing Center in Elgin.
He was born August 12, 1919, in Elgin the son of Edward C. and Helen E. (Lester) Seyller. On June 22, 1946, he married Carolyne M. Sommers, in Elgin.
Glenn is survived by his sister, Edna "Toots" Haines; daughter, Diana K. (Richard) Chamberlain of Elgin; two sons, Daniel T. Seyller of Columbia, MO and Charles A. (Vicki) Seyller of Huntley; four grandchildren, Sonda (Tony) Stuart of Clark, MO, Brenda Lewis of Kansas City, MO, Jill (Mark) Butler of Charlotte, NC, and Keith Seyller (fiancée, Malerie Orlandini) of Huntley; step-grandchildren, Kevin (Colleen) Chamberlain of St. Charles, Barbara (David) Hopper of Dublin, OH: and five great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyne "Kay" (Sommers) on March 26, 1997; his sister, Vera "Bebe" Yarbrough in 1997; and his brother, Jerome "Jerry" Seyller in 2005.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, August 14, at the James A. C'Connor Funeral Home, 11603, E. Main St., Huntley. Burial will be private in the Huntley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home and also on Thursday, prior to service from 12 noon to 1PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Pingree Grove /Countryside Fire Protection District or to the Huntley Fire Protection District.
